Hotel Review: The Conrad Dublin

Introduction

Voted back in 2017 as Ireland’s Leading Luxury Hotel by World Travel Awards, the Conrad Dublin is also the leading hotel for celebrities and highly visible politicians to stay at. The hotel stands out from many other 5 star hotels as its primary location isn’t necessarily the closest to all tourist locations, but rather, invites guests to a quiet and environment allows for any travelers to feel welcome and relaxed.

While a bit further away from its rivals, it is in a great location to explore some of the finest areas of Dublin. A quick walk brings you to the doorsteps of St. Stephen’s Green, which then quickly follows Grafton Street, Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, Temple Bar and a few other places that tourists and locals alike would enjoy.

The staff here are truly warm, welcoming and caring in every way. Nowhere within the Conrad Dublin is that more apparent than their hotel service and restaurant. During my stay here, the service and details are warranted in every part of the hotel journey - extra pillows for the night, chocolates and treats after a day’s worth of work, or that extra delivery during room service. Like the city of Dublin, everyone is friendly and incredibly inviting to help you out with anything.

The Hotel Room

The hotel room was average for a Conrad branded hotel - after all, the Conrads’ in Japan have literally eclipsed all other hotel designs by a mile. However, the room was incredibly cozy and well thought out. The bed was incredibly comfortable along with the plush feather-down goose pillows. During each turndown service, chocolates were provided along with the housekeeper’s name, which is a nice touch. I also must say, while the hallway noise may seem into the room, it was still quiet and with the AC on, I could barely hear anything.

The focus for business travelers is pretty evident: power outlets and USB ports hidden behind each power outlet allows for multiple access points for our power-hungry electronic devices. Nespresso machines and docking iPhone station allows for ambient music to play while you continue to work throughout the night.

Bathroom design was pretty standard, although I would suggest the Conrad Dublin to think a bit about how the shower/bathtub combo works for most travelers. I had to apply extra towels on the floor as the water from the shower would splatter all over the place.

The Coburg Brasserie is where breakfast, lunch and dinner can be held, along with a sophisticated beverage option called Lemuel’s Bar and Lounge. As a Hilton Diamond member, breakfast was served from 6:30-10:00am and contained a wide selection of meats, pastries and your own special omelette. The egg-white spinach omelette was the one to go for.

Breakfast buffet selections were great - with a diverse selection of hot and cold spreads, one can easily enjoy and leisure around breakfast time with a nice cup of coffee or tea.

Design-wise, the lush and luxurious environment evokes rich ambience like that of a rustic barn. Thick plank hardwood floors, black and gold decorations and brass hardware scream nothing short of sophistication.

Summary

Ultimately, the Conrad Dublin is the five-star Hotel that is on my highly recommended hotel for anyone staying in Dublin, Ireland. With its close proximity to major tourist attractions and a close walk to all major businesses, the hotel is a fantastic starting point for any travelers, business or tourist alike, to begin their journey in Dublin.
