Hotel Review: Four Seasons Hotel Austin

The Four Seasons Hotel Austin exudes luxurious accommodations and superb amenities that are underlined by the amazing 5-star Texas hospitality, along with its superb location.

Location

The hotel itself is located right in front of the Lady Bird Lake and has a lovely trail that winds around the lake. It was nice to be able to waltz outside to a trail of runners, families strolling around the block and couples enjoying the weekend and the sunset during the weekdays. I really love the hotel’s location - the Four Seasons Austin is close to a ton of fascinating restaurants, a backyard view that is unrivaled and a close 15 minute proximity to the Austin Airport.

Hotel Room

Size wise, the room was more than sufficient for a non-suite standard, with an entry way that leads to the bedroom and the bathroom on the right.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and being a Four Seasons, they give you a plethora of pillows to choose from. You can even use the app to select some rather interesting pillows if the already high standards of pillows don’t fit your needs. You get a nice sofa along with a rather heavy coffee table to lounge and relax in, while another table near the TV stand allows for some business work to be done. I ended up doing most of my work on the couch, as it was incredibly comfortable after a long day’s of work at the office.

Bathroom is quite standard - as with most hotels, I wished the water pressure would be more…strong? That’s just a wish, but it really makes the experience a lot better during a week stay.

A white noise machine is also included near the bed stands - while I didn’t use it (the AC itself is perfect for me regarding white noise), it’s a perfect complement and a great feature for travelers who need some form of noise to sleep well. The Bose soundlink system also was a great addition in the room, and made for easy pairings with my phone and computer.

One thing I love about the Four Seasons Austin - the smell of the room. There’s just something nice about coming back to a refreshed room that smells relaxing and soothing. For most business hotels, it’s all about just getting the hard product down, but Four Seasons Austin definitely has exceeded my expectations with its ability to encompass all senses during my stay.

Hotel Grounds

Outdoors, it’s not much different. You can visit via heading down the lower level, where the spa and fitness center is. The restaurant Cielo is also down there as well, with some nice views for outdoor seating.

The fitness center is a delight and perhaps one of my favorite fitness hotels - everything from TRX machines to a stair master to adequate weights up to 70LBs, this was definitely a great haven for someone who likes to keep in shape during the business travels.

The lobby itself is slightly underrated, but gets the job done with fresh flowers in the main entrance. Near the elevators, they provide fresh coffee and tea in the morning, with spa water in the afternoon and at night. Great touch and something that I wish more 5 star hotels would do.

The lobby bar has plenty of seating and with reasonable price drinks (mind you, this is coming from a guy from the Bay Area). Drinks were incredibly well made and I found myself enjoying the bartender explaining how each drink is created.

Outdoors also contains similar patio furniture and fire pits during the cold winter nights. Hammocks, chairs and patio furniture are scattered across the vicinity and I had no problem lounging while decompressing from a day’s work.

Conclusion

As expected of a Four Seasons, the room was equipped with everything a busy traveler would need. In addition, the Four Seasons app includes a concierge 24/7 assistant that could do almost anything for you during your stay. I had a blast using them when I was coming back from work or from the gym. You can also use their concierge near the front desk, whom all provided more than amazing experiences to everyone I’ve spoke to during my stay there.
