Hotel Review: Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin

Austin is a thriving tech hub that has been growing swiftly over the past decade. On my latest work trip, I had booked the Hyatt Centric Austin due to its close proximity to work and the food/drink scene. Having just deplaned from the Austin airport, a 17 minute ride to the hotel was rather swift and I soon arrived at the hotel - I was immediately enveloped by an atmosphere that perfectly encapsulates the city it calls home - vibrant, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. This lovely boutique hotel, rising 31 stories above the heart of downtown Austin, was certainly a welcoming beacon of safe haven for me during my work trip.
What truly sets this hotel apart is its commitment to providing an authentic Austin experience. From the moment you're greeted by the friendly staff, it was going to be a great experience.

Deluxe King Room | Room 2110
My home away from home was the King Bedroom Deluxe, a spacious retreat spanning approximately 340 square feet. The room's highlight was undoubtedly the plush king-sized bed, promising and delivering restful nights. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking views of Austin's dynamic cityscape, serving as a constant reminder of the urban adventure waiting outside.
The hotel's sleek, modern exterior gives way to an interior that artfully blends contemporary design with unmistakable Texan flair. Local art adorns the walls, telling the story of Austin's rich cultural tapestry, while the lobby's stylish furnishings invite guests to linger, perhaps with a craft cocktail in hand.
The room's amenities were top-notch, featuring a 55" flat-screen HDTV perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. The individually-controlled heating and air conditioning ensured my comfort regardless of Austin's famously fickle weather.

Stepping into the bathroom, I was greeted by a sleek, modern design. The spacious layout included a walk-in shower with excellent water pressure - a small but significant luxury. The vanity offered ample counter space, a necessity often overlooked in hotel bathrooms. The amenity brand provided was the BeeKind bath amenities, a staple of Hyatt Centric hotels. These eco-friendly products not only left me feeling refreshed but also aligned with the hotel’s environmental values and goals. Shower pressure was fantastic and I felt refreshed after a long day’s of work.

The 24/7 fitness center, accessible to all hotel guests, is well-equipped with a range of cardio machines and free weights. Whether you prefer an early morning run on the treadmill or an evening strength training session, this facility has you covered. In fact, I’d daresay this is probably one of the best Hyatt Centric gyms I’ve ever been to. A boxing bag, a series of spaces to work out from, it’s great!
For breakfast, it was served on the 1st floor at 8th & Congress. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide a stunning backdrop of downtown Austin as you enjoy your meal. The breakfast menu offers a mix of classic American favorites and Texan specialties. While the specific offerings may vary, you can expect options ranging from hearty omelets to lighter fare like yogurt parfaits. Their potatoes were to die for. I’m a fan!
