Hotel Review: Tulsa Club Hotel, Curio Collection

Introduction

Designed back in 1927 by Bruce Goff, this Art Deco building once housed a social club and lounge. Various generations of local residents utilized to host weddings, parties and events with all its glory. Restored to its fullest back in 2019 , this historic hotel now offers fantastic service with an opulent environment in the heart of Tulsa.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a lavish lobby and the Commerce bar and restaurant, which we frequented for drinks at night. Check-in was a breeze and everyone was incredibly friendly - some went beyond with our requests during our stay. We want to give the front desk agent, Lexi a shoutout for being fantastic and a generous host during our visit.

Due to two big events in Tulsa, I wasn’t able to get the suite upgrade as requested, but the room I was given was definitely sufficient. The room feels luxurious and all the materials feel solid and rich. Although petite, the room gave enough space and comfort that I didn’t really mind the closeness of the desk to the bed.

As mentioned, the quality of furnishings were on par with some higher-end hotels, with gold and marble trending all over the room. For the bathroom amenities, they carried Gilchrist & Soames, which I am a fan of. Their aroma was pleasant and definitely worked well in conjunction with the humid and hot weather of Tulsa.

Being that it was consistently over 90 with humidity, the AC was a must. The AC was incredibly strong, albeit a bit loud at times. If I had to ding the hotel room, it would be the lackluster of water pressure coming from the otherwise incredibly bathroom.

As a Hilton Diamond member, we were given free breakfast over our stay. This included selecting two entrees and two types of drinks - this was quite beneficial since it was all served over room service. The food was great and the oatmeal & eggs Benedict combination was one of my favorites. While the service was a bit slow due to the bicycle race, we had no problem getting our breakfast once we reached out to the front desk.

From an event’s perspective, the hotel also provides a sophisticated ballroom and event center. On the top floors (9-11) , there is a spacious setup of space that can easily accommodate 400 guests, while a rooftop boardroom provides a remarkable view of Tulsa. It really feels like traveling back in time with the lavish deco architecture design. It' really gives a Great Gatsby vibe to it and I can imagine people hosting some spectacular parties up here.

The gym facility at the basement was decent and had enough weights to get a quick workout done. The amount of free weights was a blessing and I got to throw a couple HIIT workouts in before the day began.

Conclusion

Here at Tulsa, you can experience a class of sophistication and style with the Tulsa Club Hotel. We had a pleasant time during our stay and the location was fantastic, with a lot of great restaurants within walking or scooter distance. With a sky terrace rooftop and a luxury bar for those that want to experience the night time vibes, this hotel definitely has my praises for being a top hotel in the district.
