Flight Review: Singapore Airlines Business Class (777) | ICN to SFO

Flight Review: Singapore Airlines Business Class (777) | ICN to SFO

INTRODUCTION | Singapore Airlines

Just a few months ago, I flew with Singapore Airlines in First Class, (which you can read here) from ICN to SFO. It was clearly one of the best experiences of my life and perhaps one of the best products I've experienced in a long time. Needless to say, I was thoroughly excited when I found out that the aircraft flying back home to SFO was on the new 777 aircraft.

Seat Design | Singapore AIrlines

This is one of the finest appointed business class cabin that feels almost like First Class. Singapore Airlines has done a fantastic job of creating a color scheme that dare I say, puts almost 98% of the other airlines to shame. Using lighting to dramatic effect, the soft brown and purple matched perfectly with the violet and pink spectrum in the cabin.

The seats are the crown jewels of the airline. The almost yacht-like seats are large and awash with space. Framed in this nice copper tone, it's 30" wide and can easily convert into your bed in the sky at around 78". Quilted with the finest leather and accompanied by this super soft pillow (Charmin on steroids), the seat is superb. The curved outer shell of the seat allows for a private setting, blocking off friendly neighbor glances.

Situated near all the vast storage bins, there is room for your latest Wall Street Journals newspaper, a personal directional reading light, various power sockets for your devices, and the jack to plug in your noise-cancelling headphones, which by the way are really nice.

Entertainment? The large 18" screen is quite the entertainment jewel for travelers who want to binge watch an 9.5 hour flight home. Singapore's new IFE system is one of the fastest and most up to date system, PERIOD. The library is SUPER EXTENSIVE, with almost close to 300 movies, that's right, just movies and a almost ridiculous amount of TV and drama series.

Meanwhile, I began scouring around the seat and amenities. Headphones were perfect for the flight back with ACTUAL noise cancelling features. More close up pictures of all the hidden goodies found in the seat design. Don't forget all your items if you do put them in the cubbies!

Dining | Singapore Airlines

Receiving the Singapore menu is one of the best feelings in life. Literally a restaurant in the sky, they offer "Book the Cook" option for flyers to choose their own meals before flying. From an extensive menu, they have added a ton of drinks and coffee varieties for their clients to enjoy. As you can see from the selection, there is almost an endless array of selection for you to choose from. I couldn't drink half of it - my bladder kept telling me to go to the bathroom...

Prior to flying, I was offered a glass of champagne or orange juice. I'll have both please! Shortly after takeoff and hovering over Japan, the feast began. The chicken satay first came out, and it was dish that NEVER disappoints. Taste was excellent, flavoring was great and the attendant made frequent trips back and forth to my delight.

Salad was the smoked salmon and asparagus salad, which is perfect for complementing the various glasses of white wine they had on board. But the garlic bread, oh the garlic bread...always gets me going like crazy.

Conclusion | Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines is often lauded for their amazing service, amazing product and amazing customer satisfaction. You can easily see why they are often lauded as the best airline in the sky.

With the newly revised business class design and service, they are easily still the market leader in almost every single way, showcasing their ability to be the pioneer in fantastic service. With a comprehensive entertainment system, an endless buffet of food to eat, a seat design worthy of first class, and a 5 star service, this flight was all in all perfect.

If it was only longer...gosh I always choose the shortest flights.
